Prior experiences that have shaped you: I began working with MI Metals when they were called JT Walker Industries as an assistant auditor. Eventually I came on as a financial analyst and CFO before taking on responsibilities as the general manager of the Florida plant. I was then promoted to president in 2009 and purchased the majority shares of MI Metals in 2013 and became the sole owner in 2019.
Current responsibilities: Today I oversee operations for the four extrusion facilities and am further engaged in the aluminum extrusion industry through involvement with the Aluminum Extrusion Council. I am an active member of the competition committee, focused on encouraging younger generations to get involved in the aluminum extrusion industry.
What you love about MI or Aluminum Extrusion industry: I love the variety of projects that I get to work on whether it be helping to solve a production issue or helping a customer with a solution for their production needs. It gives me great pleasure to find the solution for our customers, especially when it enables them to sustain or increase their production. I love the people that I get to work with – the employees, customers and vendors. I have great respect for the products we produce and the versatility of aluminum across many industries. Our customers are amazingly innovative and never cease to amaze me.
