We believe that delivering high-volume + high-quality extrusion requires outstanding people, proven processes, and safe, efficient facilities.
Our Capability
To meet our customer's needs, we maintain six presses using a range of 6000 series aluminum alloys in 7" and 8" billet sizes. We have the capacity to extrude in excess of 100 million pounds annually within your tolerance requirements and at high (and low) production volumes.
Our extruded products are used across a range of industries to be either functional, beautiful, or meet specific manufacturing objectives. We offer a suite of standard die profiles and custom die profiles maintained in our state-of-the-art die shop. All of our extruded profiles are manufactured in the United States at one of our four production facilities.
The MI Metals
Difference
Our teams at MI Metals operate on the Pivot Principle: we need to be both steadfast and ever-changing to deliver best-in-class performance. We hold fast to our decades-long legacy of success, while constantly innovating and improving our operations. We sustain our promised delivery schedules while modulating our workload to accommodate special requests. Aluminum extruders of our volume have generally lost the agility we consider our signature. By investing in our people and building their expertise and trust, MI Metals delivers the adaptability of a small business with the manufacturing power of a large-scale manufacturing plant. The result of this approach is confidence — the transparency and trust that our team will deliver, as it consistently meets your needs. We give outstanding personnel the leverage to refine best practices and understand the nuances across your full profile of needs: the product, finishing, packaging, and wraparound communications.
Adaptable and Agile
Our team members understand that we need to adapt to your emerging situations and our critical role in your supply chain. A pivot is where motion and stasis are brought together — and where leverage is gained. If you have an urgent need, it can keep your production lines down.
Our small and agile leadership teams within each facility have long standing relationships that allow us to flex our production and deliver product sooner, while maintaining on-time delivery across the board.
Experienced and Ready
Experienced team members enable us to develop solutions for your unique production challenges. If you have a special production requirement and aren’t sure how it can be produced, our sales team will collaborate with our press team to create a cost-effective solution that consistently meets specifications and tolerances. Our customer service is second to none, and we intend to keep it that way.
Our Die Shop
Our tool and die experts in our die shops collaborate with you on die design to develop repeatable quality tooling that matches your exact specifications. As an industry leader for decades, we can also provide guidance to reduce cost or improve the performance of your profile, from reducing stress concentration to fatigue analysis.
